Romans 12:9: Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.

There are too many Mr. Milquetoasts and Priscilla Goodbodies, these sweet folk who haven’t the intestinal fortitude to stand for that which is honorable. This is the reason many good, fundamental churches are in trouble today. We need men and women with backbone to express their hatred for that which is evil. “Cleave to that which is good.” Cleave means to stick like adhesive tape, to be welded or cemented together with the good things. The believer should always be identified with good things rather than shady or questionable practices. 1

Application

  • Would you let someone use God’s name in vain and never say anything?
  • Are you willing to stand up for biblical truth, when you are told that you are intolerant because you do not celebrate the popular sins? Remember, our loving God hates evil, and so should we.

Prayer

Lord, You deserve my voice to speak out when Your word is being mocked and ridiculed.
