The Life and Ministry of Jesus

Now when Jesus had crossed over again by boat to the other side, a great multitude gathered to Him; and He was by the sea. And behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he saw Him, he fell at His feet and begged Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live.” So Jesus went with him, and a great multitude followed Him and thronged Him. Mark 5:21–24

Parental love leaves a parent wide open to towering joys and to the deepest sorrow. Some of us have known what it is like to see a convulsing child and wonder if he was going to make it.

We would do anything to save our child. Jairus probably thought, “Take my life, not hers.” Jairus and his wife were desolate—at the very bottom. 1

Personal Encouragement

What would you be willing to give to save your own child? What did the Father give to save you for eternity with Him? Do you live sacrificially? Is it random, or is it with purpose and intent?

You who stand in the house of the Lord, In the courts of the house of our God, Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; Sing praises to His name, for it is pleasant. Psalm 135:2–3

When you find yourself sinking, look up, because Jesus will lift you out.

A Prayer

Lord, thank You for allowing the hardest times, which have helped me to find Your greatest strength for me.
