The Life and Ministry of Jesus

At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to Him all who were sick and those who were demon-possessed. And the whole city was gathered together at the door. Then He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him. Mark 1:32–34

Jesus’ heart naturally responded in healing power: “and Jesus healed many who had various diseases. He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak because they knew who he was” (v. 34).

What a wonderful evening! The demons fled pell-mell from his presence, and the bed-ridden were tossing their mattresses and crutches into the air. The comatose were lucid and talking. The onlookers were in a state of frenzied joy. The sounds carried far out over the waters of the Sea of Galilee through them. 1

Personal Encouragement

Will you go to Jesus today and ask for healing or deliverance from sin?

Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak; O Lord, heal me, for my bones are troubled. Psalm 6:2

Jesus is always available for us, but we are seldom available for Him.

A Prayer

Lord, thank You for never giving up on me.
