FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 12:1 (b): I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

Just as Jesus Christ had to take on Himself a body in order to accomplish God’s will on earth, so we must yield our bodies to Christ that He might continue God’s work through us. We must yield the members of the body as “instruments of righteousness” for the Holy Spirit to use in the doing of God’s work. The Old Testament sacrifices were dead sacrifices, but we are to be living sacrifices. 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Corinthians 6:19–20

We now are under new management. We have a new resident living within. It is the Holy Spirit of God. He considers us His temple. He dwells within us. Therefore we should live joyfully under His authority. Have you yielded the throne of your heart completely to Him? Are you willfully surrendering to His lordship over your life?

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

To yield to Him is to die to self.

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; 1 Thessalonians 4:1

Dear Father, I desire to abound more and more in Your grace so that I can have a walk that is pleasing and glorifying to You. Amen.
