FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 6:12: Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

While justification merely declared him righteous, removed the guilt of sin, it did not change him in his life. It gave him a new nature. Now he is to know that he was buried with Christ and raised with Him. God wants him to live in the power of the Holy Spirit. The believer is joined to the living Christ. He is to reckon on that fact; he is to count on it. He is to consider it as true. You see, God saved us by faith, and we are to live by faith. Many of us, and that includes this poor preacher, have trusted Him for salvation, but are we trusting Him in our daily living? We are to live by faith. 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 2 Timothy 2:22

Only Jesus can save us from our sinful past. Life is about choices. And we know that all choices have consequences. Every choice reveals the pursuit and the passion of our heart. What do you want to pursue? The things of the flesh, or the things of the Spirit? Righteousness or unrighteousness? The things that satisfy the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life? Or the things that build faith and love into our heart, and mind, and will? Do you seek to have a pure heart, or a polluted heart?

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

We all are passionate about something and someone, but not all passion is profitable for the soul.

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul. 1 Peter 2:11

Dear Father, please keep my soul pure before You…in Jesus Name. Amen.
