FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God
Romans 4:9–10: Does this blessedness then come upon the circumcised only, or upon the uncircumcised also? For we say that faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness. How then was it accounted? While he was circumcised, or uncircumcised? Not while circumcised, but while uncircumcised.
FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God
Since David has spoken of the joy of the man under law who has been forgiven, the answer of the Jew would be that David belonged to the circumcision and only the circumcision could expect this joy. For this reason Paul returns to Abraham to show that Abraham was justified before the Law was given and also before he was circumcised. God made the promise to him, and he believed God long before there was any kind of agreement made at all—other than that God said He would do it. 1
FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God
That the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:14
Jesus, thank You that Your blessing always comes by faith. We relate to God by faith. Ceremonies and religious rituals and keeping feast days have nothing to do with gaining the approval of God. God responds to your trust in Him. He does not respond to your trust in what you do for Him. He is not obligated by your duty and diligence.
FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God
Having surgery never made anyone righteous before God.
FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God
That we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:14
Dear Father, fill me with the promise of Your Holy Spirit…in Jesus Name. Amen.
