FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God

Romans 4:3–5: For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,

FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God

Sola fide, the doctrine of faith alone, offends our natural sensibilities. We naturally think justification ought to go to the good, those who are trying to do their best—the paddlers. But not to the ungodly! We can understand how Abraham was justified by faith, because he was a God-fearer. But the wicked? But the truth is, we are all ungodly/wicked. None of us are good enough. Salvation will be sola fide, or it simply will not be. Again, grace has power which the Law never had. 1

FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God

Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. Acts 13:38–39

Jesus, thank You for being my Justifier. I brought nothing to the table. There was no negotiation. It was all You and it is still all You. Without You, I could do nothing. With You, all things are possible. My works are not to gain anything, because You have already given me everything. My works are just a joyful act of fellowship, serving my Father and my King in the power of His Holy Spirit, who is abiding within me.

FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God

Justification happens in a moment, but it will last for all eternity.

FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God

And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant…1 Timothy 1:14

Dear Father, I always need Your abundant grace upon me…in Jesus Name. Amen.
