FAITH: Comes by Hearing the Word of God
Romans 1:1–2: Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God which He promised before through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures.
FAITH: Comes by Studying the Word of God
The Gospel is not a new message; it was promised in the Old Testament, beginning in Genesis 3:15. The Prophet Isaiah certainly preached the Gospel in passages such as Isaiah chapters 53 and 55. The salvation we enjoy today was promised by the prophets, though they did not fully understand all that they were preaching and writing (1 Peter 1:10–12). 1
FAITH: Comes by Obeying the Word of God
“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” Isaiah 1:18
Jesus, thank You for Your gospel message that has been in place since sin entered the garden. Thank You for telling me the truth that I needed to hear. I am a sinner. I have sinned against a Holy God. My stain of sin can not be scrubbed away by good works. They can only be washed away in the blood of Jesus. Thank You for Your complete forgiveness that washed my sin away and made my soul like freshly fallen snow.
FAITH: Comes by Experiencing the Transforming Work of God
A scarlet soul, soaked in sin; is now made white, soaked in saving grace.
FAITH: Comes by Praying with the Word of God
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved.) Ephesians 2:4–5
Dear Father, this is what I needed to hear today. Teach me to live by faith and not by feelings. You loved the unloveable me. I am alive with You!…in Jesus name. Amen.
