Psalm 149:4–5: For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation. Let the saints be joyful in glory; Let them sing aloud on their beds.
Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms
The Lord’s people should praise Him because He takes pleasure in them and gives them salvation. For this they should rejoice and sing even when resting. 1
Living the Transformed Life
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. Psalm 23:1–2
- My voice shall praise You when I awake each morning for saving me. – “The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous.” Psalm 118:15
- My voice shall praise You when I awake each morning for Your loving me. – “To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning.” Psalm 92:2
- My voice shall praise You when I awake each morning for sustaining me. – “Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:8–9
Use your morning voice, to express your heart, to the One who saved you, and to the One who will keep you, for all eternity.
Praise and Prayer
Thank You, Father, for being there when I awake, and when I sleep. Dear Jesus, forgive Me for failing to give You the praise for Your morning mercies, new every day.
