Psalm 97:10: You who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

On the basis of this prospect, the psalmist instructed those who love the Lord to despise evil, that is, to live in faithful obedience to His righteous standards. By being faithful they will be delivered from the wicked. 1

Living the Transformed Life

Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. Psalm 34:14

  • Lovers of God…flee from temptation and hide themselves under the shadow of His wings!
  • Lovers of God…receive the grace and mercy of God so they can love others with the abundant love that God has bestowed upon them!
  • Lovers of God…look for the hand of God to lead them into the marvelous glory of His light and truth; and to give them victory over sin and darkness and death!

Lovers of God, love Him supremely.

Praise and Prayer

Thank You, Father, for Your lovingkindness that initiated and sustains our relationship. Dear Jesus, please teach me how to love to You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength. Please teach me love other, like You have loved me.
