Psalm 95:6–7: Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, And the sheep of His hand.
Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms
Here is the master reason for worship. Jehovah has entered into covenant with us. As he belongs to us, so do we belong to him. And we are his as the people whom he daily feeds and protects. Our pastures are not ours, but his; we draw all our supplies from his stores. We are his, just as sheep belong to the shepherd, and his hand is our rule, our guidance, our government, our source of supply. Israel was led through the desert, and we are led through this life by “that great Shepherd of the sheep.” Can we refuse to worship and bow down when we clearly see that this God is our God forever and ever, and will be our guide, even unto death? 1
Living the Transformed Life
So we, Your people and sheep of Your pasture, Will give You thanks forever; We will show forth Your praise to all generations. Psalm 79:13
- We worship our Lord…when we bow down and kneel before Him in prayer and adoration, with thanksgiving.
- We worship our Lord…when we praise Him publicly as our Creator God, who is the Maker of everything.
- We Worship our Lord…when we hear His voice and do His will.
Healthy sheep stay healthy when their Physician is also their Shepherd.
Praise and Prayer
Thank You, Father, for keeping me in the palm of Your hand. Dear Jesus, please teach me how to worship You in Spirit and in truth.
