Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms
Early will I seek thee. Possession breeds desire. Full assurance is no hindrance to diligence, but is the mainspring of it. He is up before dawn to meet his God. Communion with God is so sweet that the chill of the morning is forgotten, and the luxury of the couch is despised. My soul thirst for thee. Thirst is an insatiable longing after that which is one of the most essential supports of life. Thirst will be heard; the whole man must yield to its power; so it is with that divine desire which the grace of God creates in regenerate people; only God himself can satisfy the craving of a soul really awakened by the Holy Spirit. In a dry and thirsty land, where no water is. A weary place and a weary heart make the presence of God the more desirable. 1
Living the Transformed Life
As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. Psalm 42:1
- When I awoke, He was already there, for He never sleeps nor slumbers, and He ever lives as an intercessor for me.
- When I awoke, He flooded my soul with His lovingkindness, and with His abundant mercies for a new day.
- When I awoke, I was no longer weary, for I realized that I was in His presence.
My soul was hopelessly dying in a desert of life, then I met You.
Praise and Prayer
Thank You, Father, for being known as the Ever-Present God, always there for me. Dear Jesus, please teach me to drink at the well of Your living water.
