Psalm 51:10: Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

“I need a new heart,” David said. “Create in me a new heart,” and the word create means “out of nothing.” In other words, there was nothing in David’s heart that God could use. He was not asking for renovation or reformation. He was asking for something new. Sometimes we hear the invitation, “Give God your heart.” May I ask you, “What do you think God wants with that old dirty, filthy heart of yours?” He doesn’t want it. God is not asking anybody to give Him his heart. He wants to give you a new one. That’s what He wants to do. “Create in me a new heart” is what David is asking for. “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them” (Eph. 2:10). Let God give you a new heart. 1

Living the Transformed Life

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

  • With a new heart, you will have new strength to love God and to love others.
  • With a new heart, you will have a future filled with purity and not pollution.
  • With a new heart, you will experience a new empowering of the Holy Spirit, to live free from the bondage of sin and its certain consequences.

He who created the world, wants to create a new heart within you.

Praise and Prayer

Thank You, Father, for not reworking the old me…but for making a new me. Dear Jesus, please lead me down the road that You prepared in advance for me.
