Psalm 37:7–8: Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm.

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

A silent tongue in many cases shows not only a wise head, but a holy heart. And wait patiently for him. Time is nothing to him; let it be nothing to you. God is worth waiting for. In a story we wait for the end to clear up the plot; we ought not to prejudge the great drama of life, but stay till the closing scene. What if the wicked devices succeed and your own plans are defeated! There is more of the love of God in your defeats than in the successes of the wicked. 1

Living the Transformed Life

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Galatians 6:9

  • In my waiting, I learn to love the Lord my God with all my heart.
  • In my waiting, He teaches me that my relationship with Him is more important than the wise answer He will provide.
  • In my waiting, I ask His forgiveness for worrying, and I surrender all my fears to Him.

When you are resting in Him, you will walk confidently before Him.

Praise and Prayer

Thank You, Father, for removing the worry and replacing it with a divine rest. Dear Jesus, please keep my eyes on the things that are true, pure, and praiseworthy.
