Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

Make Jehovah the joy and rejoicing of your spirit. Those who delight in God desire or ask for nothing but what will please God; hence they may have what they will. Our innermost desires are here meant, not our casual wishes; there are many things which nature might desire which grace would never permit us to ask for; these deep, prayerful, asking desires are those to which the promise is made. 1

Living the Transformed Life

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. John 15:7

  • Delight in studying His Word, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.
  • Delight before His throne in prayer, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.
  • Delight in serving Him, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.

If He is your delight, your desire will be His desires for you.

Praise and Prayer

Thank You, Father, for erasing my past by the blood of Jesus on the cross. Dear Jesus, forgive me for desiring too little of You, and too much of the world.
