Psalm 22:27–31: All the ends of the world Shall remember and turn to the Lord, And all the families of the nations Shall worship before You. For the kingdom is the Lord’s, And He rules over the nations. All the prosperous of the earth Shall eat and worship; All those who go down to the dust Shall bow before Him, Even he who cannot keep himself alive. A posterity shall serve Him. It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation, They will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born, That He has done this.
Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms
The psalmist then turned his attention to the world at large. He anticipated that the world would turn to and worship the Lord because He is the sovereign King, the One who rules over the nations, including the rich and the dying. From generation to generation the people of the earth will be told that the Lord answered his prayer and rescued him, so therefore the Lord can be trusted. When people would hear how God answered His prayer, many would turn to Him in trust and worship. 1
Living the Transformed Life
For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.” So then each of us shall give account of himself to God. Romans 14:11–12
- Turn from your life of sin, and turn to be forgiven by Him.
- Turn from your own worldly ambitions, and turn towards Him with godly ambitions.
- Turn from living for today, and turn towards living for eternity.
It’s your turn, to turn, towards Him.
Praise and Prayer
Thank You, Father, for turning me away from a destructive lifestyle. Dear Jesus, please give me a renewed urgency to tell others about you.
