Psalm 18:28–30: For You will light my lamp; The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop, By my God I can leap over a wall. As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

Whether we meet the foe in the open field or leap upon them while they lurk behind the battlements of a city, we shall by God’s grace defeat them in either case. Such feats we have already performed, hewing our way at a run through hosts of difficulties, and scaling impossibilities at a leap. It behooves God’s warriors to be very careful to lay all their laurels at Jehovah’s feet, each one of them saying, by my God have I wrought this valiant deed. 1

Living the Transformed Life

When His lamp shone upon my head, And when by His light I walked through darkness. Job 29:3

  • You can have victory from the darkness, if you allow His light to lead your way.
  • You can have victory over your enemy, if you allow the Lord to fight your battles.
  • You can have victory over your insecurities, if you allow His word to be your shield.

I was outnumbered and overwhelmed until I called upon my God to fight my battle.

Praise and Prayer

Thank You, Father, for being my light, my strength, my shield, and my truth. Dear Jesus, please help me to surrender to You, and allow You to fight for me.
