Psalm 17:6–7: I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God; Incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech. Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You From those who rise up against them.

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

David prayed to be kept from evil people in the world because they are full of vicious pride. His prayer was based on God’s loyal love for him. The Lord’s great love is revealed by the fact that He saves those who take refuge in Him. David, at this point, was taking refuge, so he desired to be shown that great love. 1

Living the Transformed Life

Blessed be God, Who has not turned away my prayer, Nor His mercy from me! Psalm 66:20

  • Call upon Him, and He will hear you and He will answer you.
  • Call upon Him, and He will bless you abundantly with His lovingkindness.
  • Call upon Him, and declare your trust in Him and your surrender your will for His good purposes.

When I finally called upon Him, I realized that He had been waiting patiently for me.

Praise and Prayer

Thank You Father, for listening to me, even though You already know everything about me. Dear Jesus, I will never understand why You are so marvelously loving towards me, a sinner saved by Your grace. Please make me more loving towards others.
