Psalm 8:9: O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth!

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

Not today, but someday the name of the Lord will be excellent in all the earth. In our time, we live in a universe that is groaning, travailing in pain, waiting for the redemption (Rom. 8:22). But God is above all creation. He has set His glory above the heavens. And up yonder is that Man who over nineteen hundred years ago came down to this earth to be born in Bethlehem.

He is seated now in glory at God’s right hand. Only by faith will we be able to see Him. “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:2). What a glorious prospect this is for the child of God! 1

Living the Transformed Life

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18

  • Look up with faith and see our Majestic One with His eyes upon you right now.
  • Look up in hope and see our Faithful One interceding for your right now.
  • Look up in love and see our Truthful One saving you from sin and death.

Looking upward means I am looking to Him in faith, hope, and love.

Praise and Prayer

Thank You Father, for directing my eyes away from my current situation and now I am just looking to You alone for all that I need. Dear Jesus, lead me away from those with a critical spirit and fill me and overflow me with the outpouring of your Holy Spirit.
