Psalm 2:1–4: Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, “Let us break their bonds in pieces and cast away their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision.
Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms
Since this is not the laughter of humor, what is it? Well, look at it from God’s viewpoint—little man down there parading up and down, shaking his fist in Heaven’s face and saying, “Come on out and fight me! I’m against you.” God looks down at the puny little creature. It’s utterly preposterous. It is so ridiculous! He looks down and laughs. It is so utterly ridiculous, my friend. Little man plays his brief role here on the stage of life, then his part is over. How ridiculous and preposterous for him to oppose God! 1
Living the Transformed Life
For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones. Isaiah 57:15
- Do you relate to God based on His truth, or based upon on your terms?
- Do you come to Jesus in humility and gratitude, or with an attitude of disappointment, because He is not answering your prayers the way you think He should?
- Facing unexpected difficulties will reveal if Jesus is truly the Lord of our lives.
It is much better to praise God’s greatness, and to proclaim our need for Him.

Thank You Father, for Your patience in loving me, when I was so prideful towards You. Please teach me how to surrender more of me…to You.
