Changed by His Love
1 John 2:13: I write to you, fathers, Because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, Because you have overcome the wicked one. I write to you, little children, Because you have known the Father.
“I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one.” The “young men” are not as mature as the fathers, that is, they haven’t had the experience the fathers have had, but they have learned the secret of overcoming the enemy by the blood of Christ. They have learned how to live for God.
Don’t tell me that a young person cannot live for God in this day. “I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.” They are the ones who know they are the children of God, but that is about all they know—and some of them feel that is all they want to know. Oh, how many children of God fall into this classification! In some churches you feel as if you are in a spiritual nursery! Although the folk are physically full–grown, some of them with gray hair, they are still spiritually immature. They never did grow up. 1
Loving Him
Where are you at in your spiritual walk? Are you maturing? Are you living like an undisciplined youth? Are you just a child? Where will you be in one year? What are you doing today to become a mature believer?
And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:11–13
Loving Others
Growing up spiritually means you want to overcome the wicked one.
Make Me Like You
Lord, thank You for leading every believer into a greater walk with You.
