Changed by His Love
1 John 1:5: This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
Light guides us. It points out the path. Light on the horizon leads men on to take courage. It gives them courage to keep moving on. God is light. Let me go to the other extreme. Darkness is actually more than a negation of light. It is not just the opposite of light. It is actually hostile to light. The light and holiness of God are in direct conflict with the evil darkness and chaos of the world.
Without the grace of God for salvation, I would be nothing in the world but a creature in rebellion against God, with no good within me at all. We are living in a world today that is in rebellion against almighty God. God is holy. I am a sinner. I am saved by grace, yes, but how am I going to have fellowship with Him and walk with Him? 1
Loving Him
Everyone has had the occasion of asking someone else for directions. We all have had that awful experience of being lost, at least once. Many times it is at night. It can become very confusing and even dangerous. God knows exactly how we feel. He knows that we live in a lost world with lost people. Therefore, He left the glory of heaven to become the Light of the world. He leads us out of the darkness and into His marvelous grace.
It is His light that reveals the dark sin upon our soul. It is His light that exposes our desperate need for His forgiveness. It is His light that shows us how His blood will cleanses us from all our sins. It is His light that leads us in the path of righteousness for His name sake. Are you resisting His light, or welcoming His light? Do you flee from His exposed knowledge about you, or are you humbly drawn towards His grace and love and forgiveness? Does His light liberate you or isolate you? Will Jesus Christ be the Light of your life?
Loving Others
To experience His light, is to experience His deliverance from the shadows of the past.
Make Me Like You
Lord, thank You for allowing Your light to reveal Your love, to a lost generation.
