Romans 5:15: But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.

We have “much more” in Christ. Today we are looking forward to something more wonderful than the Garden of Eden. As the writer of Hebrews tells us, “These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth” (Heb. 11:13). 1

The sin of Adam brought death—a decaying degenerative force. But grace brought a far more dynamic power—life. It not only did away with death, but restored what had been destroyed. Moreover, “the trespass of Adam brought death once, the sacrifice and death of Jesus brings life a thousand times.” 2

Application

  • When did you discover that your sinful nature was identified with Adams sin?
  • When did you discover that the grace of God identified your new nature with Jesus?

Prayer

Lord, thank you for your saving grace, a new nature, and a new start each day because You are so merciful.
