Romans 11:29–30: For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience.
“I am the Lord, I change not” (Mal. 3:6). “God is not a man that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent” (Num. 23:19). God’s gifts to Israel, and God’s calling of Israel, cannot be taken back or changed, or God would cease to be true to His own perfect nature. The fact that Israel may not enjoy her gifts, or live up to her privileges as an elect nation, does not affect this fact one bit. God will be consistent with Himself and true to His Word no matter what men may do. 1
Application
- What is just one gift, beyond salvation, that God has given to you? Would it be the gift of helping, or serving, or teaching, or leading, or giving, or…?
- How often do you use this special gift from Him? Would you say seldom or would you say often? What keeps you from using His gift on a daily basis?
Prayer
Lord, thank You for trusting me with the gift that You have given to me. Help me to use it daily for Your glory and for the blessing that it will bring to others.
