Discipleship Living

The Narrow Way Is The Right Way

Discipleship Living: Psalms

Psalm 1:6: For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

Perish simply means “lost.” It is a word of finality, if you please. The wicked are going to perish. The wide, broad way is like a funnel in that you enter at the big end and, as you continue, it becomes narrower and narrower and finally leads to death. You enter the narrow way by Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the life. As you continue, the way becomes broader and broader; and this way leads to life. Christ says, “… I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” What a glorious picture of the blessed and happy man is presented in the first Psalm! 1

Living the Transformed Life

Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. Matthew 7:13–14

Praise and Prayer

Thank You Father, for leading me down the narrow way. Please teach me how to avoid the way of the ungodly.
