Psalm 90:1–2: Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.
Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms
Everlasting means “from the vanishing point to the vanishing point.” God is from the vanishing point in the past and reaches to the vanishing point in eternity future. How majestic is this thought! “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them” (Gen. 1:27). Then in Genesis 2:7 Moses said, “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” This psalm regards man as a created being, not as an evolved animal. 1
Living the Transformed Life
For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. Psalm 33:9
- The eternal God made you from the earth by His Word, and redeemed you for heaven by His blood. Will you live sacrificially for Him?
- The eternal God knows you personally and loves you continually. Will you love Him more than you love other people or other things?
- The eternal God sustains you by His grace, moment by moment. Will you ask for and receive His life-giving Holy Spirit to fill you and strengthen you for His purposes?
The One who always existed, made you, and saved you, and wants you to spend eternity with Him. – TWEET IT
Praise and Prayer
Thank You, Father, for being the only true and eternal God. Dear Jesus, thank You for stepping down into this darkness to rescue me for eternity.
