His Goodness and Mercy

Discipleship Living: Psalms

Psalm 23:6a: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

This is indisputable, and therefore a heavenly Surely is set as a seal upon it. This sentence may be read, “only goodness and mercy,” for there will be unmingled mercy in our history. These twin guardian angels will always be with me. Just as when great princes go abroad and must not go unattended, so it is with the believer. Goodness and mercy follow him always—the black days as well as the bright days. Goodness supplies our needs, and mercy blots out our sins. 1

Living the Transformed Life

You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness. Psalm 30:11

Praise and Prayer

Thank You, Father, for always giving me, every day, the fullness of Your goodness and mercy. Dear Jesus, please teach me to seek You in Your Word, and to hide Your truth in my heart.
