Discipleship Living

When Your Losing the Battle

Discipleship Living: Psalms

Psalm 22:14–15: I am poured out like water, And all My bones are out of joint; My heart is like wax; It has melted within Me. My strength is dried up like a potsherd, And My tongue clings to My jaws; You have brought Me to the dust of death.

Experiencing Jesus in the Psalms

Because of his enemies’ attacks, David’s strength was sapped like poured-out water, and his joints were racked. Moreover, like melted wax his courage (heart) was gone—he had lost his desire to resist. His strength was gone and his mouth was dry. In his weakness he was at the brink of death. 1

Living the Transformed Life

And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. Luke 22:44

Praying with greater earnestness will keep you from drowning in the depths of doubt and despair.

Praise and Prayer

Thank You, Father, for understanding all my weaknesses, and for always being there to help me through every difficult situation. Dear Jesus, please keep my heart hungry for Your word, and obedient to Your way.
