1 Corinthians 1:21: For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
The world of men failed completely in regard to the one and supreme thing it needed: it did not know God. This does not refer to mere intellectual knowledge but to the genuine realization which grips, holds, and dominates the entire person. Men never attained to this real knowledge of God; they did not know him. When he speaks to them in the gospel even today, they laugh; they do not think that it is God speaking. See John 8:19 regarding the Jews with reference to this point; even though they talked about God and boasted about him they did not know him. 1

- Read Isaiah 55:8-11
- You will never know God apart from His word. You will never grow up without His word. You can always be confident in His word. Your prosperity is based upon receiving and believing His word. His word is never empty or without fruit.
