Paul never yielded in the smallest measure to anything that was in itself wrong. In this his conduct was the direct opposite of those who accommodate themselves to people’s sins or to the superstitious observances of false religions. And, second, the concession must not involve any admission that what is in fact unimportant is a matter of moral obligation. 1
