John 1:18: No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

God the only Son is literally “the unique God” or “the only begotten God” (v. 14). John was probably ending his prologue by returning to the truth stated in verse 1 that the Word is God. Verse 18 is another statement affirming Christ’s deity: He is unique, the one and only God. The Son is at the Father’s side, thus revealing the intimacy of the Father and the Son (cf. the Word was “with God,” vv. 1–2). Furthermore, the Son has made … known (“exegeted”) the Father. The Son is the “exegete” of the Father, and as a result of His work the nature of the invisible Father is displayed in the Son. 1

Your Word is Truth

There is no negotiation regarding the identity of Jesus. He is God in human flesh. He is the eternal God-man, who had no beginning. Bethlehem was not His beginning, it was His visitation to provide our salvation. Refrain from ever saying: “Jesus is cool.” He never came to earth to be called “cool.” He is the Holy Lamb of God who is worthy of our worship, not our cultural patronizing.

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. –John 4:24

You Alone are God

To fall before Him in worship, is to surrender it all at His feet, in full humility. – TWEET IT

Your Will be Done

Lord, make me of worshipper of You. Change my heart. Change my will.
